What major football college has the best academics? We're talking I-A here, with a good football program. I want to know what college you think not only has good football, but also offers top-notch academics. Please support your answer with more than the usual hearsay or baseless opinions.
What college has the best campus and still has good academics? I got a 28 on ACT and I have a 3.5 to 3.6 GPA. Trying to find a college with a good campus, good academics, and hopefully still warm.. Looking for colleges that are looking for 26-28+ for ACT scores too I think, or lower if it is a good school. Money is an issue so it cannot be to expensive
What colleges have really good cheerleading teams as well as academics? Okay so I'm going to college soon and I'd like to know what schools have good teams as well as academics. I'm not one of those little cheerleaders that prance around and yell go team and shit. I'm an all-star cheerleader and I want to go to a college that has a good team where like everyone has their fulls and good stunts and stuff thanks.
Can you help me write a paragraph on Academics for the yearbook? Hi, I'm on the yearbook staff at my school, and my editor asked me to write a brief paragraph about Academics for our Academics section. I've written some of it, but I'm lost now. It has to be somewhat inspiring and have something to do with how our teachers and the people we meet in high school affect the rest of our lives.
Do you think Beauty has more economic value than being good in academics? Do you think Beauty has more economic value than being good in academics? I think people look at you and see how beautiful you look, and they don;t care if you have an outstanding talent or a double degree. The first thing they look at is your body, so a supermodel fit body is more better than having a college degree. Do you agree? Sad but true?

How hard is it to be successful if you suck at academics? When I look around, people who are highly successful all come from presitigous education background. They all hold professions like MD, stockbroker, engineer and have graduated from Ivy League University. It depresses me as I am not so good at academics. I feel like I will never amount to successes that they have and will barely make ends meet. It is very depressing to even think about that. Is the road to success narrow for people who are not book-smart? Thanks in advance for any insights.
How do liberal academics suppress the expression of conservative ideas on college campuses? Some conservatives have claimed that liberal academics attempt to suppress the expression of conservative ideas on college campuses by enacting speech codes. By this, I'm assuming that they're referring to "political correctness". Personally, I don't see how this is true. After all, the speech codes on campuses usually ban such things as sexual harassment, racial slurs, and other forms of harassment. How does this in any way suppress the expression of conservative ideas? Not only that, but there's certainly no shortage of College Republicans chapters! alex l: Actually, I HAVE been on a college campuse. I happen to have a B.A. in Spanish with a minor in German. While a few of my instructors were openly liberal, most of them didn't mention their political views. Also, believe it or not, I actually dated a Republican for a brief time. He had a history professor who was openly liberal. They sometimes debated their views in class, but they always did so respectfully and they actually LIKED one another. Kim: Me imagino que nunca has estudiado en una universidad, cabrona.:)
Why don't academics become politicians or hold elected office? It just seems logical to put the smartest, most ethical people, in the most impt positions. But there has only been one U.S. President to hold a Phd (Wilson). And academics rarely are elected to Congress. I wish we could mark none of the above on the ballot and begin a search for the most talented person, not the person with the deepest pockets or best fundraising ability.
Do Indians and the Chinese (living in India and China) have a life besides academics? Americans have a life besides academics, including school sports and work.Do Indians and the Chinese have a social life, or is their life just constrained to academics? Or do Indians and the Chinese find different ways of having a social life? If they don't have much of a social life consisting of sports and work, does this effect the development of their social skills?
What are academics in the field of Communication Studies called? Example of what I mean. Academics in philosophy are referred to as "philosophers", in political science as "political scientists" - or in political economy, a specific field of political science, they are referred to as "political economists", in geography as "human geographers" or "geologists", etc.
Teachers, do you think there should be less competition in athletics and more competition in academics? In American schools it seems like we place all this competitive emphasis on athletics and a lot of the kids get left out and don't get the chance to participate and exercise and socialize through sports. I think it's really a shame, especially with the childhood obesity issues today. Then on the other hand we have no competition in academics and kids often feel like they get no reward and they have no motive to excel in academics. Other countries make testing and grades into a competition. What do you think, teachers?
How about rebuilding the UN with academics instead of politicians? I.E. - Invite academics from every subject and from every country to attend instead of letting countries choose their representatives because they will invariably send hard-nosed politicians that only care about protecting their particular country's interests. Wunderkind has a point, except that we KNOW that its all screwed up right so why not try the devil that we don't know. The problem with using average everyday people is that they are NOT knowledgeable. Is it not reasonable to use educated people? Sure they have egos and they argue incessantly but so does everybody. Feel free to keep offering up suggestions... ...we're listening
Why do academics draw different conclusions about the same issue? I have read many research papers / books by academics, who provide different interpretations / conclusions about one particular issue. Normally, academics, who work at university, are respected for their supposed objectivity and accuracy. So why are there so many different conclusions? There must be one who's right, and another's wrong? And if two academics give two different conclusions, how can both of them retain their job? It makes one feel there is no standard to judge their works.
Is it possible to get into a university with just academics? I'm a sophomore in highschool. Overall, I do well academically with a 3.75 gpa. But I don't do any clubs or sports. To be completely honest, I have a few close friends and that's all i really want. i don't love interacting with other people. Is it possible to get into a university with just academics?
What do academics argue the 'magic web' in the Lady of Shallot symbolises? I may have my own thoughts but I would like to know what academics think about the 'magic web' and its meaning. Unfortunately I do not have access to JSTOR at this moment, otherwise I wouldn't be asking this question, but could you quote me to some articles where people argue about the magic web? Thank you
What's the difference between applied mathematics and academics math? Hey people! I'm moving back to Canada this year, but I have never been to a Canadian School, the new school's confusing, it has Applied, and Academics mathematics... But for American school, they have separate courses like Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II/ Trig, etc and PS: if im taking geometry summerschool, what kind of "course name" do they have for Geometry? Please help! Thanks!!
Does being athletic benefit your academics? I'm doing a research paper on the connections between academics and athletics, and most of what I find disagree with my opinion. I think being athletic benefits your education experience. It teaches you many characteristics that are important that are easier to be taught by your sport. The websites I've been looking at think it's too hard to balance sports and education. So I want to know your opinion, if possible from experience.
What role does academics play in child custody? My son has traditionally done poorly when it comes to school. Mom is of the stand point that it's the teachers job to teach, and sees her role as not at all connected to academic success. She believes that if a child is not doing well academically, it must be the teachers fault. My son will do very poorly throughout the academic period (9week quarters), often not turning assignments in on time, or at all, only to 'sprint' at the end or when sports eligibility is threatened.
What academics would prepare me for a nursing career? I want to go to college for Registered Nursing and maybe even further my medical career after that (maybe nurse anesthetist, or nurse practitioner.) I took a year off school to work but i want to go to college in spring to prepare me for the health care field. What are some academic classes i can take to help me start off??? I'll take advice about getting into the health care field if you know about it also.. ok thank you.
What colleges have a great blend of academics and social life? I'm a really good student who will probably get into a lot of schools. I'm looking for a school that I can learn at and really enjoy. Should I just pick the best academic school and assume the social life will be alright, or should I compromise academically for a more enjoyable setting?
Do academics ever give permission for personal communications to be cited in academic work? I am a graduate student and have communicated via emailwith a number of scholars in my field. On various occasions I have sought permission from the correspondent to cite their comments in my dissertation work or my own work for publication. Not one has given consent for me to do so. I understand this unreservedly but in conversations with friends and coleagues it appears that it is very rare for such consent to be given in a humanities discipline, at least.
Is there a correlation between academics and the philosophical mind? Seems to me, from the people I have known who were deep thinkers and philosophers, that there is a correlation between the two. Such as, these people did rather poorly in school as far as studying, but got fair grades anyway. Then when they grow up they do ok for themselves. (usually) Does it really have to be an "either - or" situation? I would appreciate website links on the subject, if anyone has any.
What are the academics that are taught during Navy OCS.? Im a college junior right now and I am planning on attending Navy OCS upon graduating college. I was just wondering what academics are taught during OCS and is there anything that I can study in months prior to me leaving for OCS if accepted.
How are the academics at Linden Hall School for Girls and what do colleges think of it? I got accepted into Linden Hall High School in PA for the 2009-2010 school year. I am an Honors student and I'm wondering if their classes would be challenging AND if Linden Hall looks good on a college application. I have talked to one family who hated the school and found it toooo challenging and left, and one whose kids are amazingly smart (like off the board) and they love it there. Does anyone else have opinions? Please and thank you in advance!
What is your advice for adjusting to the college level of academics? Question says it all. Hopefully some of you will have been through college and could give me some advice as to how to survive my first semester as an architecture student while maintaining a good GPA. All that I have come up with is that I am only going to take twelve hours. This is because I am going to be in the Band/Corps at Texas A&M.
How high do your academics have to be to get accepted to Texas ATM @ College station? My daughter has been wanting to go to Texas ATM for a long time, her grades stay at 80s-90s in most classes and shes in Honor classes (AP for some of you) If she stays around those grades are her chances of getting accepted well? Any information would help, thanks! Shes only in eighth grade, haha, but she wants to know how hard to work in high school, etc.
What do you think of professors and academics in general? To be honest, my experience of them has not been good. I find them to be quite reclusive, entrenched and inflexible. I think many of them spend more time on their own research and applying for sponsorship and grants than looking after their students. But that's just me: Does anyone strongly disagree?
What are some suburban colleges/universities with good academics and financial aid? Helpful teachers, friendly down to earth students, solid financial aid, and a great education in a suburban city in the mid-west/east coast...hopefully a small/medium sized school. what colleges have all this? Thanks No religious preference and preferably no schools under 1,000-1,500 students. Only problem with liberal arts schools is they seem to be, oftentimes, in the middle of nowhere. Thanks for the suggestions.
Is a civilized discussion amongst the academics of Turkey possible? Could this era in the history of Turkey be taken as a chance to put an end to endless and useless discussions on issues like basörtüsü and derin devlet? If so please give me short and honest answers to these questions; 1- Are you against any coups, party closings and imprisoning of politicians and journalists? 2- Are you against any laws that endorses dress codes? 3- Are you in favor of getting rid of all sorts of secret organisations that think they have to protect the state against the folk?
Why do some kids succeed in academics while others fail? Hey, I'm a middle school student. I've just been wondering this; I'm in 8th grade right now. All of my classmates' grades dropped dramatically this year. They are not doing very well, and they find 8th grade very hard. Meanwhile, I think this is the easiest year yet, and my grades are higher than they have ever been in my entire life. What is it that makes some kids succeed and other kids fail even though they are just as smart as the first kid?
