Denver.....?

My family and I are taking a weeks vacation in Denver over the 4th of July. We are on a limited budget and are trying to find loding that will be $300 or less for the week. I've looked at area hotels and if we want one that's SAFE and CLEAN, we can't touch it for under $450. Thought about taking our motor home, but SAFE and CLEAN RV Parks in the Denver area are few and far between. So, I've condsidered renting a condo/apt/home that someone uses as a vacation home. Checked out a few of those online, and not much luck. Anyone have any suggestions for affordable lodging accomodations? We've received really low rates on hotels in Denver when going for medical reasons, but the hotel I wanted to stay at requires a letter from the hospital. Anyone know of any other discounts we may be able to get? We are not to picky, but I do rely on reviews from tripadvisor.com before making a decision. HELP.... we leave this Saturday. Serious answers only please.

  1. Check out denver.craigslist.org. You might be able to find something under the vacation rentals. Also, you could post there and get some answers under the general community. If you wanted to go camping, try Chatfield Reservoir...close to Denver. Check online for other camping, not RV parks.
  2. One tip as a frequent traveler, is head towards business centric hotels. As it is a holiday week many of these hotels that cater to business travelers like myself will have lower capacities, thus lower rates. You are leaving on Saturday, and on a quick Hilton/Marriott search I found a number of very nice hotels in the $80 range/night. Not sure how long you are staying ('til Friday or the following Sunday) but some long-term stay hotels may also have accomodations (i.e. Extended Stay America)...I also ran a search on Yahoo! travel and found the ESA at the Denver Tech center for $60 per night. The best value I saw was the Wyndham Tech Center for $70 per night.
  3. My husband and I are planning a trip to Denver this summer also and I've found some great deals on hotels at www.hotwire.com. The catch is that they withhold the name of the hotel so they can sell rooms for less. However, you do get star ratings and they tell you which hotels are commonly associated with that rating plus they tell you the amenities at that hotel. I'm pretty sure we're using hotwire to find a place.
  4. Perhaps you can check out to see if there is any offers for Denver hotels using SearchAllDeals.
