Why are all scientists, historians and practically all academics lying about the earth being older than 6k yo?
Older than 6000 years old! When the Bible tells us that the earth can't be that old! That's quite silly, isn't it? Somebody should tell them that they are wrong and pronto!

- Yes, let's inform the ones who have facts over a book anyone could've written that they are wrong.
- silly arent they and they are all in cohoots with each other that must take a lot of organising but then , they do have all those atheists working with them and planting those bones
- Many Christians like myself have no problem with a big bang, or God working in an evolutionary process. Day is used figuratively for a period of time in many scriptures, and the day/age theory of the creation believes there can be millions to billions of years between the days. The order for the creation parallels the same order science gives. First comes the heavens (stars, etc.), then an empty earth without form, then land followed by oceans, then plant life followed by the first intelligent life in the sea, then comes birds (which according to science are descendants of dinosaurs), then mammals, then a more specific wild animal, and finally man. It's actually amazing that it gives an order 3,000 plus years before science confirms that same order. Adam is not created until after the seventh day, and the day/age theory believes the man created on the sixth day is not the same as Adam who is first mentioned after the seventh day. That allows for cave men, and explains where Adam and Eve's children found wives, since there were people before them. As far as intellegent design, when some Christians latch onto a world that is 6,000 years old, the thought of "not intelligent" comes to my mind. They need to be convinced that science is not the enemy, that science actually corroborates the biblical order. Likewise, non-religionists need to explain how Genesis came up with the same order as science, considering how that might relate to intelligent design.
- its billions of years old, the world doesnt work according to the bible, get the hell over it.
- They are all living in satan's camp and are blinded to the Truth by him. Pride is what keeps them from realizing their need for Jesus Christ.
- Rather amateurish troll, sonny.
- Because it's true.
- As a Christian, why would I believe that the earth is only 6000 years old when the Bible doesn't say that and fossil remains indicate that the earth is far older? An older earth doesn't contradict the existence of God.
- I agree with you. The Bible also says that the end of the world will happen and just like noah's ark, nobody will believe you until it happens. Which means you can tell them until you are blue in the face and it won't matter, but God tells us to do it anyway hoping to save some of them.
- Do facts matter really? There is a sun, the earth and the moon. Did a human do that? Nah, can you explain in words how you know for a fact they got there nah. It's all about unified clarity over time, and the ability to give thoughts forms. The rest is pointless. The bible is a sociology lesson for those who hurt themselves and the preceding by hurting others.
- Sweetie, the bible does NOT tell us that the earth can't be older than 6,000 years...at most, the bible tells us that Adam and Eve left the garden about 6,000 years ago. Personally, I think the age of the earth is trivial information. If it was that important, God would have made sure that two pieces of information were included in the bible: (1) the length of time that Adam and Eve lived in the garden before they were cast out, and (2) what was happening on the rest of this planet while they were in the garden. The way I see it, IF the world is only about 6,000 years old, then we have seriously screwed up our interpretation of the available evidence. That's certainly possible, but it is also possible that Adam (and later Eve) remained in the garden for millions of years while life evolved BY GOD'S DESIGN on the rest of this planet. Thing is, it doesn't matter either way...the way I see it, "I don't know, I don't care" is the most rational response from a believer to questions about the age of the earth. I simply don't see how believing it is 6,000 years old or believing it is much older could have any impact on a person's ability to seek God's plan for their life.
