How Do I get From Denver to Colorado Springs?

I need to get from Denver to Colorado Springs near Garden of the gods or Ute Valley park, I cannot drive as I have no car and no license. Then I need to get back to Denver, can anyone tell me how to do this for a reasonable cost? I do not wish to spend $100+ for a trip that should cost $8 in gasoline.

  1. . Your only option is to hitch hike . The shuttle is $100 each way and the greyhound is around $80 round trip . BTW , the gasoline would be $34 round trip if the car averages 25 mpg .
  2. What the hell are you talking about South Lake? 1. Thats NOT true at all, please dont speak if you dont have a clue. The Front Range Express is designed for this exact reason- Its 11 bucks One Way, 22 bucks round trip. http://www.frontrangeexpress.com/ It stops in several spots in downtown Denver, including the Arapahoe Transit station on the south end of town where you can link with the airport shuttle if needed. It DOES NOT stop right by Garden of the Gods, but it does stop at Woodmen and I-25. You could probably also bring a bike with you and ride it the rest of the 3 or so miles as well if your fit. If not, there is probably a city bus from there if you couldnt get a ride while in town, or a taxi for another 10 or so bucks. Or you can take it to the Tejon downtown stop, and take the Ute Pass Express bus up to Manitou Springs and take a taxi/city bus from there if you cant get a ride. Heres the site for the Metro in the Springs: http://www.frontrangeexpress.com/ http://www.springsgov.com/units/transit/Routes/2010SysMapLegalFNL.pdf (Map- as you see, the 14 bus takes you fairly close to the GOGods or call a taxi if your that desperate. 2. Its definitely NOT 34 bucks in gas either! Its only 140 miles. For that trip, round trip, my SUV (which is usually running around 20mpg) takes just under 1/2 tank, or around 20 bucks at the most UNLESS ITS RUSH HOUR in Denver- then of course its more. I drive this several times a week for work. Mapquest says its 9 bucks each way so you were almost right on.
