Kratos Defense & Security Solutions announced on April 8 that it has received a contract from the U.S. Space Force’s Space Systems Command, with a potential value of $446.8 million, to lead ground management and integration for the Resilient Missile Warning and Tracking (MWT) program.

The initiative aims to develop and sustain the infrastructure needed to operate Resilient MWT satellites in Medium Earth Orbit. This system is designed to provide continuous detection, tracking, and custody of advanced missile threats, including hypersonic glide vehicles and maneuvering ballistic missiles.

As prime contractor, Kratos will head a team that includes Northrop Grumman, Auria, ASRC Federal Systems Solutions, and Rise8. The group will work together to establish primary and backup mission operations capabilities by unifying both legacy and next-generation ground assets into a single network. This architecture will connect with multiple space vehicle providers as well as the Department of Defense’s Future Operationally Resilient Ground Evolution (FORGE) platform.

Greg Caicedo, Senior Vice-President of Kratos Space, Training and Cyber Division said: “A globally distributed ground architecture is essential for integrating multiple satellites, providers and mission systems.” He added that Kratos would support launches of new MEO satellites using its OpenSpace solution integrated with FORGE for interoperability across various manufacturers’ space vehicles.

Phil Carrai, President of Kratos Space, Training and Cyber Division said: “Programs like Resilient MWT require more than individual technologies. They require the engineering depth and operational experience to deliver integrated mission systems.”

Kratos stated that its award highlights its expanding role in strengthening national security infrastructure through expertise in multi-site satellite operations. The company also supports other U.S. Government contracts such as CCS-C Sustainment and Resiliency (C-SAR) with Space Systems Command.
