The Colorado Department of Transportation announced on April 10 that its bridge maintenance team will conduct an inspection on US Highway 24 at Mile Point 297.7 over Canon Avenue in Manitou Springs on Monday, April 20. During the work, travel will be reduced to one lane in each direction and motorists are advised to expect delays.
The bridge inspection is part of ongoing efforts to maintain transportation infrastructure across Colorado. The department said working hours will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with east- and westbound traffic reduced to one lane and possible delays of up to fifteen minutes. Canon Avenue will also experience intermittent closures by flaggers during periods of active work.
Motorists are encouraged to slow down near the work zone, drive with caution, allow extra space between vehicles, and plan for additional travel time.
