The Colorado Department of Transportation will carry out culvert cleaning and shoulder clearing on Colorado Highway 145 west of Telluride on April 16. The work, scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., will affect the Keystone Hill area between Telluride and Placerville, with motorists facing full stops, alternating traffic, and delays of up to 20 minutes.
This maintenance is intended to remove debris and help prevent erosion or flooding along the roadway. CDOT said operations are dependent on weather conditions.
Drivers should expect daytime lane closures and traffic shifts during the project window. “Motorists should plan for 15 to 20-minute delays and should allow for extra travel time,” CDOT said in its announcement. Travelers are advised to watch for flaggers and signage indicating lane changes.
