The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will resume paving operations on Colorado Highway 145 from Tuesday, September 2, through Thursday, September 4. The work will cover a section from Wagner Way at Mile Point 69.5 to north of Mountain Village Boulevard at Mile Point 70.

Paving will occur between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. each day. Drivers should expect full stops, alternating traffic, and delays ranging from 15 to 30 minutes as crews work on about half a mile along Lawson Hill. CDOT noted that these operations are dependent on weather conditions.

Last week’s scheduled paving was cancelled due to bad weather.

A CDOT travel alert map highlights ongoing maintenance and closures along the San Juan Skyway loop, which includes routes between Durango, Silverton, Ridgway, Telluride, and Dolores. Motorists are also advised to drive carefully and watch for firefighters and heavy equipment working on CO 145 between Rico and Dolores.

“Motorists will encounter full stops, alternating traffic, and 15 to 30 delays while crews pave an approximately half a mile of CO 145 along Lawson Hill. Paving operations are weather dependent.”
