The U.S. Census Bureau announced on April 9 the release of a downloadable file containing estimates of the nation’s resident population by single year of age and sex as of July 1, 2025.

These new estimates provide updated demographic data for policymakers, researchers, and the public to understand changes in the country’s population structure.

According to the Census Bureau, additional releases are planned in the coming months. These will include housing unit estimates for the nation, states, and counties; population estimates for cities and towns; as well as more detailed breakdowns by age, sex, race, and Hispanic origin for various geographic areas including metropolitan and micropolitan statistical areas. The bureau also plans to publish Puerto Rico Commonwealth and municipio population estimates by age and sex.
