The north intersection of Colorado Highway 7 (Arapahoe Avenue) and 38th Street in Boulder will be closed from Friday, July 25, at 5 p.m. until Monday, July 28, at 5 a.m. The closure is to allow for milling and paving work as part of an ongoing resurfacing project in the area.
During this period, access to 38th Street will be maintained through a detour route. Motorists are advised to follow posted detour signs and note that business access will remain open. The speed limit in the work zone will be reduced to 35 MPH. Drivers should also watch for construction vehicles entering and exiting the area.
According to the Colorado Department of Transportation, crews will remove existing asphalt and recondition base materials before applying a new asphalt overlay. This process aims to create a stronger road foundation and improve surface smoothness and safety for drivers. The overall project is expected to continue until late December 2025.
