A coalition called Colorado Chooses Vaccines has formed to provide clear information and reliable access to vaccines for residents across the state. The group aims to address uncertainty caused by shifting federal guidance and widespread misinformation.

The coalition’s efforts focus on monitoring federal policy changes, advocating for strong state-level vaccine policies, and communicating accurate, science-based information to Coloradans. According to the coalition, their work includes “response to federal action, monitoring federal policy changes and rapidly translating their implications for Colorado,” as well as supporting advocacy that “protects access to vaccines and defends against efforts to weaken the immunization system.”

They also emphasize coordinated communication strategies designed to counter misinformation and promote trusted voices within communities. “Clear, coordinated communication that helps Coloradans get trustworthy information, addresses misinformation, and elevates voices of trusted messengers across the state,” is a central goal of the organization.

The group points out that recent actions by some federal agencies have included promoting false claims about vaccines, such as unsupported links between vaccines and autism—contradicting established scientific research. At the same time, cases of measles, pertussis (whooping cough), and other diseases preventable by vaccination are increasing while immunization rates decline.

“Colorado Chooses Vaccines brings together experts and community voices to provide clarity amid national uncertainty. We support providers, respond quickly to policy changes, share easy-to-use educational tools, and make sure Colorado continues to follow evidence—not politics—when it comes to keeping people healthy,” a statement from the coalition said.

The organization says its goal is to strengthen systems that ensure vaccinations remain simple, safe, and accessible for all ages in Colorado.
