The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT), working with Elam Construction, has finished a resurfacing and bridge improvement project on Colorado Highway 82 near Twin Lakes. The work covered about seven miles of highway, stretching from Mile Point 78—located one mile west of Twin Lakes—to Mile Point 85.2 at the junction with US Highway 24.
Regional Transportation Director Jason Smith said, “This is an important rural route, and Lake county is one of many examples of an area that has benefited from a range of CDOT improvements over the past few years.” He added, “The new asphalt will add years of life to the highway, provide a smoother road surface and will add durability by increasing the resistance of ruts and road damage.”
The project marks the completion of resurfacing along this section of CO 82, which connects key areas in Lake County.
