The work covers approximately 13 miles of roadway, stretching from the La Plata/Archuleta county line to Old Coal Mine Road, between mile points 12.8 and 26.

The project began on February 17, 2025. According to CDOT, crews are now completing punch list items and expect to finish all work before the winter holiday season. The official completion date is set for November 21.
