Colorado Medical Society remembers James R. Regan for decades of service

James Robert Regan, MD, who dedicated more than 40 years to internal medicine, died on June 9, 2024. He was 68 years old.

Dr. Regan was born in Detroit and pursued his undergraduate studies at Colorado College before earning his medical degree from Wayne State University in 1982. He completed both his internship and residency at St. Joseph Hospital in Denver.

Dr. Regan became involved with the Colorado Medical Society (CMS) early in his career, joining the organization in 1983. Over the years, he held several leadership roles within CMS and related organizations. In 2000, he served as President of the Denver Medical Society. He also chaired multiple task forces and joined the CMS Board of Directors in 2003. From 2006 to 2009, Dr. Regan was Treasurer of CMS.

His professional achievements included being named a Fellow by the American College of Physicians, which recognized his contributions to internal medicine.
