The Colorado Medical Society (CMS) has announced its 2025 Annual Meeting, set to take place in Keystone. The event will feature a variety of activities and sessions for members, with the highlight being the Presidential Gala on Saturday evening. During the gala, outgoing CMS President Kim Warner, MD, will formally pass leadership to incoming president Brigitta Robinson, MD. The theme for this year’s gala is “Prom: Black Tie; White Coats.”
On Friday afternoon, the CMS Board of Directors will hold its final quarterly meeting of 2025. This session is open to all CMS members and offers both in-person and virtual attendance options. Later that evening, attendees are invited to a welcome reception with networking opportunities and trivia games. Members—including medical students and residents—are encouraged to participate in a research poster competition covering primary research, case reports, and evidence-based reviews.
Saturday’s agenda begins with breakfast at 7 a.m., followed by educational sessions starting at 8 a.m. Topics include federal legislation affecting Colorado healthcare, public trust in physicians, reputation management, ethics in advocacy, among others. Speakers scheduled for the day include Carolynn Francavilla-Brown, MD, FOMA; Kamran Dastoury, MD; Matthew Wynia, MD, MPH; and featured presenter Bobby Mukkamala, MD—president of the American Medical Association.
A lunch event hosted by COMPAC will recognize recipients of the Defender of Medicine award. In the evening, members can attend the President’s Reception and Gala featuring dinner and dancing.
Childcare services are available on Saturday during designated hours with organized activities for children.
Attendees can also enjoy outdoor activities in Keystone such as hiking on trails from Keystone Gulch Trailhead or nearby peaks like Grays and Torreys Peak. Biking enthusiasts can access Keystone Bike Park before it closes for the season on September 21st; riders must purchase a one-day lift ticket to use park facilities (https://www.keystoneresort.com/explore-the-resort/activities-and-events/summer-activities/mountain-biking.aspx). Other recreational options include playing golf at Keystone Ranch Golf Course or participating in lake activities such as kayaking or paddleboarding.
“Whether you come to learn, connect, or have some fun, there is something for you and we cannot wait to welcome you!” said organizers.
