The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) is reminding locals and districts that the deadline to order personalized bricks for the IAM Workers Memorial is March 1, 2026. The memorial, located at the William W. Winpisinger Education and Technology Center in Hollywood, Maryland, honors workers who have died, been injured, or become ill due to their work.

Each year on Workers’ Memorial Day, a ceremony takes place at the site to remember those lost and renew efforts to improve workplace safety. The date for this year’s ceremony has not yet been announced.

Locals or districts can purchase a brick in honor of a fallen member. Bricks are available in several options: a $100 brick with three lines of text (up to 20 characters per line) without a logo; a $125 option with three lines of up to 15 characters per line and an IAM logo; and an 8×8 brick for $200 that allows more text or the addition of a logo. A commemorative tile can also be purchased for $10 as a sign of support.

For members who lost their lives on the job or from work-related causes, complimentary bricks will be provided if requested using the order form.

According to the IAM, “Completed in 2001, the IAM Workers’ Memorial stands as a powerful tribute to workers who have lost their lives while on the job. The memorial is surrounded by bricks bearing the names of fallen members, as well as contributions from lodges and dedicated IAM members.”

The organization encourages timely orders so that tributes can be included ahead of this year’s observance.
