Denver is set to see significant economic gains as the Denver Broncos prepare for their NFL playoff games. According to a report released by the Metro Denver Economic Development Corporation (EDC), the city could experience an estimated $60.4 million increase in economic activity due to the upcoming Divisional Round and AFC Championship games.

The report highlights that spending related to these two games would support about 380 full- and part-time jobs, particularly in lodging, food services, transportation, and retail sectors. The analysis also found that each dollar spent on playoff activities generates an estimated $1.60 in total economic activity for Denver, as local businesses purchase goods and services and employees spend their earnings within the city.

“When Denver hosts major sporting events like the Broncos playoff games, the impact extends far beyond the stadium,” said Hanna Scovill, Senior Economist and Director of Economic Competitiveness for the Denver Metro Chamber. “Two Broncos playoff games would drive an estimated $60.4 million in economic activity for the City and County of Denver, energizing local businesses and supporting hundreds of local workers.”

J. J. Ament, President and CEO of the Denver Metro Chamber, expressed enthusiasm about both the team’s success and its effect on the community: “We are so excited to celebrate our Chamber member the Denver Broncos being the No. 1 seed in the AFC. Not only does this create an amazing sense of pride and camaraderie in our community; it generates tens of millions of dollars in local economic activity, supports hundreds of jobs, and showcases our city on a national stage. We can’t wait to cheer on our team here in Denver!”
