Denver Health has appointed Sean VanBerschot as the new executive director of the Denver Health Foundation, following his six months in the interim role and three years as associate executive director.

Donna Lynne, CEO of Denver Health, commented on the appointment: “Sean has shown exceptional leadership during a pivotal time for our foundation. He is a trusted voice as we elevate expectations for the foundation’s role within our health system and the community.”

VanBerschot’s official appointment comes after the 2025 Thriving Denver Gala, where more than $1.5 million was raised to support various initiatives. As executive director, VanBerschot will focus on developing new strategies and increasing engagement with the community as the foundation prepares for a significant year in 2025.

His immediate priorities include growing donor involvement in projects such as the Westside Redevelopment Project and strengthening legacy giving efforts. The foundation also plans to continue expanding its partnerships within the community and aims to complete its multi-year Springboard for Solutions Campaign, which seeks to raise $80 million over several years.

Denver Health expects that these efforts will further increase its philanthropic impact under VanBerschot’s direction.
