The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) Women’s & Young Workers Department has opened registration for two upcoming leadership programs aimed at supporting women in the union. The Women’s Leadership Program will take place from March 1 to 6, 2026, and the Advanced Women’s Leadership Program is scheduled for March 15 to 20, 2026. Both events will be held at the William W. Winpisinger Education and Technology Center in Hollywood, Maryland.

The Women’s Leadership Program seeks to encourage female union members to become more active within their local chapters and districts. According to IAM, this program focuses on building leadership abilities as well as skills in organizing, parliamentary procedure, political and legislative engagement, strategic planning, and networking.

For those who have already completed the initial program, the Advanced Women’s Leadership Program offers an opportunity to further develop these skills. The advanced course is intended for participants ready to expand on their previous training in areas such as leadership development and network building.

“IAM sisters are equipped with the tools and confidence needed to lead effectively at every level of the union and to strengthen solidarity across our membership,” states IAM in its announcement.

The official call letter provides information about tuition costs, transportation arrangements, and curriculum details. Registration must be submitted through the Departmental Program Registration Form.

Deadlines for registration are January 21, 2026 for the Women’s Leadership Program and February 11, 2026 for the Advanced Women’s Leadership Program. Members seeking more information can contact the IAM Women’s & Young Workers Department by phone at 301-967-4747.

IAM encourages eligible members to participate in these educational opportunities as part of ongoing efforts to build a stronger and more inclusive organization.
