The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) held its annual MNPL Conference in Savannah, Georgia on March 31. Approximately 300 IAM union members attended the event to discuss labor politics, fundraising efforts, and hear from legislative leaders about strategies ahead of the upcoming midterm elections.
The conference served as a platform for union members to engage with political issues that affect workers and to coordinate efforts aimed at supporting pro-labor policies. The gathering highlighted the importance of collective action among union members as they prepare for key electoral contests.
Following the conference sessions, IAM delegates joined the No Kings rally and march through downtown Savannah. During this demonstration, participants voiced their concerns regarding what they described as poor labor policies by the President.
The annual event is part of ongoing efforts by IAM to mobilize its membership around political advocacy and workplace rights. The combination of legislative updates and public demonstrations reflects a broader strategy to influence policy decisions at both local and national levels.
As midterm elections approach, IAM members are expected to continue organizing around these issues while maintaining their focus on improving conditions for workers.
