The Colorado Department of Transportation announced on Apr. 15 that overnight lane and full closures will continue this week and weekend on northbound Colorado Highway 157 (Foothills Parkway) at Pearl Street in Boulder as crews complete concrete panel removal and replacements.
These closures are required for the safety of both motorists and workers, while also aiming to shorten the duration of disruptions for drivers. The department said that uniformed traffic control officers will be present to help manage traffic flow during the closure periods.
According to the schedule, northbound CO 157 will be reduced to a single lane with ramp closures from Wednesday night through early Friday morning. A full closure of northbound CO 157 at Pearl Street is planned from Friday night until Sunday morning, with detours directing traffic off the highway at Pearl Street before re-entering via the northbound on-ramp. Southbound lanes will remain open throughout these periods. Motorists should expect up to 15-minute delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes over the weekend.
The Colorado Department of Transportation works to improve quality of life for residents through integrated transportation solutions, according to its official website. The agency aims to deliver an effective multi-modal system that safely transports people, goods, and information while enhancing environmental standards in Colorado. According to its website, Shoshana Lew serves as executive director for CDOT, which oversees transportation infrastructure across the state including highways, aviation, and transit support. As stated by CDOT, it builds and maintains interstates, U.S. highways, state highways, and administers grants related to aviation and transit. The department operates in highway maintenance as well as supporting other modes such as aviation.
