The Colorado Department of Transportation announced on April 1 that the planned full closure of northbound Interstate 25 at Garden of the Gods Road in Colorado Springs has been delayed by one week, moving from April 3 to April 10. The closure is scheduled for overnight hours and is necessary for bridge deck repairs and replacement of expansion devices.

This delay affects motorists traveling through the area, as the safety-related work will now occur between Friday, April 10, at 10 p.m. and Saturday, April 11, at 4 a.m., with additional closures tentatively set for subsequent nights through Monday morning. The Fillmore Street on-ramp to northbound I-25 will also be closed around the clock from Friday night until early Monday morning.

Crews will conduct repairs on both ends of the bridge during these closures. The work schedule may change depending on weather conditions. Additional overnight closures are anticipated: southbound I-25 at Garden of the Gods Road from April 17 to April 19; northbound I-25 again from May 1 to May 3; and southbound I-25 once more from May 8 to May 10.

During evenings leading up to these dates, including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday before the main closure period, motorists can expect lane reductions beginning at 7 p.m., followed by full closures between late evening and early morning hours. Detour routes will be marked for affected travelers during all closures.
