The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will close US Highway 6 west of Holyoke overnight on September 4 and 5 for bridge reconstruction work. The closures are scheduled from 5:30 p.m. to 7 a.m. each night to allow crews to set girders on the new bridge structure.
US 385 at Mile Point 279 will also be closed during these hours. The closure area is located west of US 385 and east of County Road 37.
Detours have been established for both directions of travel. Westbound drivers should head west on US 6, turn left on County Road 35, right on County Road 24, and then right on US 385 to reconnect with US 6 east of the closure. Eastbound drivers should go east on US 6, turn right on US 385, left on County Road 24, and left again on County Road 35 to reconnect with US 6 west of the closure.
CDOT noted that “the work schedule is weather-dependent and subject to change.”
Nighttime working hours are Thursday to Friday, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 a.m.
