The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) and Brannan Sand and Gravel, LLC are set to begin resurfacing work on a section of the Interstate 70 Eisenhower-Johnson Memorial Tunnels. The project will start Sunday night, September 14, and is expected to continue through late October.

During the construction period, traffic through the tunnels will alternate overnight, with possible delays of up to 30 minutes for motorists traveling in both directions.

According to CDOT, these measures are necessary to maintain safe and efficient travel along this key corridor connecting Clear Creek and Summit counties. The agency advises drivers to plan for extra travel time during overnight hours while work is underway.
