Tracy Gutierrez has been appointed as the new regional program manager for southern Colorado in the University of Colorado’s Office of Outreach and Engagement. She will start her position on February 2, continuing outreach efforts that began when the office was created in 2019. The region she will oversee includes 21 counties, stretching from the San Luis Valley to southeastern Colorado.

Tony Salazar, vice president for outreach and engagement, commented on her selection: “Tracy was selected from a very competitive field of over 360 candidates from across the state. Our team is pleased to welcome Tracy into our statewide outreach and engagement work. We are excited to have her expertise and experience as she continues to build upon the relationships we’ve created in this important part of the state.”

Gutierrez brings more than 25 years of professional experience in southern Colorado. For 15 years, she served as director of alumni and community relations at Colorado State University Pueblo, where she organized over 45 events annually and led alumni engagement initiatives. Her responsibilities also included representing the university at local events such as the Colorado State Fair and Chamber of Commerce functions.

Most recently, Gutierrez worked as senior program manager at Southern Colorado Economic Development District for three years. In this role, she supported economic development projects and community engagement across 13 counties.

She has also been active with the Pueblo Latino Chamber of Commerce for more than two decades, serving multiple terms on its board of directors and holding the position of board chair in 2024.

Gutierrez is a lifelong resident of Pueblo and holds a degree in mass communications from CSU Pueblo (formerly known as University of Southern Colorado).
