The U.S. Census Bureau has published new data tables detailing the foreign-born population by generation, based on information from the 2024 Current Population Survey Annual Social and Economic Supplement (CPS ASEC).

These tables offer a breakdown of social and economic characteristics for three groups: first-generation individuals (foreign-born), second-generation individuals (with at least one foreign-born parent), and third-and-higher generation individuals (with two U.S. native parents). The data covers employment status, education, household income, poverty status, race, age, and sex.

The Current Population Survey is a longstanding and widely recognized survey in the United States. It serves as the primary source for monthly labor force statistics and supports various studies to inform the public about economic and social conditions.
