University of Colorado Board of Regents approves 22 faculty for tenure across campuses

The University of Colorado Board of Regents has approved tenure appointments and awards for 22 faculty members across its campuses, effective in August 2025.

At the CU Anschutz Medical Campus, Rebecca A. Ihrie and Jonathan Michael Irish from Pediatrics, as well as Ihab R. Kamel from Radiology, have received appointments with tenure. The board also awarded tenure to John Bankston (Physiology and Biophysics), Saketh Ram Guntupalli (Obstetrics and Gynecology), Cari R. Levy (Medicine), Rebecca L. McCullough (Pharmaceutical Sciences), and Natalie Virginia Schwatka (Environmental and Occupational Health).

CU Denver will see Erin Orrick from the School of Public Affairs and David Rifkind from Architecture receive appointments with tenure.

At UCCS, William Wells was appointed with tenure in Criminal Justice within the College of Public Service.

CU Boulder announced several appointments with tenure effective August 14, 2025. These include Alan Bovik in Electrical, Computer and Energy Engineering; Bryan Choi, Ann Lipton, and Govind Persad in the School of Law; Bethany Ehlmann and Steven D. Jacobsen in Geological Sciences; Shivendranath Ganesh in Communication; Shanti Catherine Simon in the College of Music; Ann Stevens in Economics; Amanda Thein in the School of Education; and Hong Tien Vu in Journalism.
