The University of Colorado has implemented changes to its procedures for handling public records requests under the Colorado Open Records Act (CORA). As of February 1, 2026, the university is centralizing how it receives and processes these inquiries.

Requests for public records will now be submitted through an online form. This system directs submissions to the Director of Public Records Compliance as well as relevant campus records custodians, who are responsible for responding. The Office of Policy and Efficiency (OPE) stated that updates to Administrative Policy Statement APS2022 were made to align with this new centralized process.

Further details about the recent policy changes can be found on the OPE’s website at https://www.cu.edu/ope/aps/latest-changes. Information regarding all systemwide administrative policy statements is available at http://www.cu.edu/ope.
