The University of Colorado’s Strategic Planning Working Group is advancing its efforts to create the institution’s next long-term plan, Strategic Plan 2.0. The group has completed its second meeting and is preparing to consult with various members of the university community.
Strategic Planning Co-Chairs Lynn Vidler, provost at UCCS, and Chad Marturano, vice president and chief financial officer for the CU system, will meet with governance group leaders throughout the 2025-26 academic year. These meetings are intended to facilitate discussions with faculty, staff, and students about the direction of the new strategic plan.
“The conversations will be essential in shaping a strategic direction that reflects the values and aspirations of the entire community,” according to a statement from the working group.
An interactive engagement tool is being developed and will be available on the Strategic Planning website later this fall. This tool aims to give CU community members an opportunity to provide feedback, examine emerging themes, and follow updates on the planning process.
The working group includes faculty, staff, and administrators from all four campuses as well as CU system administration. Their responsibility is to develop a plan aligned with CU’s mission and vision that will guide future growth and success.
A draft version of Strategic Plan 2.0 is expected to be delivered to President Todd Saliman by June 2026. The final version will be presented to the Board of Regents in summer 2026. Until then, CU’s current 2021-26 Strategic Plan remains in effect.
More information about the process can be found at the CU Strategic Plan 2.0 website. For questions or feedback, individuals can contact CUStratPlan@cu.edu.
