Motorists traveling on US Highway 550 between Purgatory Ski Resort and Silverton should expect two full road closures on Friday, Oct. 10. The Colorado Department of Transportation announced that the closures are necessary to allow for the safe delivery of modular housing units to Silverton.

The closures will take place in two periods: from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 3:15 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. During these times, traffic will be stopped in both directions between Mile Points 49 and 70. Drivers are advised to plan their trips to avoid these closure windows.

According to the Colorado Department of Transportation, these measures are being taken to ensure the safe and efficient transport of the modular homes to their destination in Silverton.
